On this freezing Thursday, I’m throwing it back to Mandi’s maternity session! We had a beautiful, chilly day. Big Brother Ben was *so* adorable, giving kisses and snuggles, and big smiles! It’s so awesome to be able to include the new “big” sibling in maternity sessions.
Isn’t she beautiful?
Perfection, they name is Charlie Belly. Sometimes, you need a little snack break. On Sunday, I get to meet little sister Charlotte Noel, who was born Dec 26th! Working with Mandi, Joey, and Ben is always so fun and relaxed. I always look forward to our time together.
I’m currently booking FEBRUARY and MARCH newborns! Refer a friend and get some fun extras for both of you 😉 Save over $100 when you book a Watch Me Grow session where you get newborns, 4m, 8, and a 12m cake smash all set up at once, but pay through out the year! All you need to do, is email me at email@example.com to get set up. We’ll discuss your due dates, and I’ll send out my contract and invoice. Easy peasy!
If that isn’t a catchy title, I don’t know what is.
It has been an absolute whirlwind fall. Every year I tell myself I’m not going to take on so much- I’ll spend more time with my family. I’ll actually hire someone else to take photos of us because I won’t be working every minute!
And then this year I took something like 12 more fall sessions than I did last year :*) I took 4-5 mini sessions every weekend and then also took my usual work load during the week. It was nuts and I’m pretty sure my eyes are going to fall out of my face. I’m taking only 2 sessions in December, not just to give my retinas a rest, but also because with the holiday season comes winter break for my daughters and you guys know I’m a mom first.
I wanted to share some of the families I had this year, and since my blogging is pretty much the worst ever, I’m going to pop them into a couple giant posts! We’ve had our first snow here, and looking back at the colors of fall is so nice 😀
It’s hard to believe I’m going to be pre-booking fall family mini sessions for my current client list in just about seven weeks! Looking back at these fall photos makes me so excited for what’s to come!
Jenny, Chris, Grey and Wally are four favs. I was lucky enough to photograph them a couple times over the year and it’s always a treat. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of their hugs, their little smiles, or their family cuddles!
Oh, Wally :*) I love working with kids- you never *ever* know what you’re going to get! Grey was all smiles and giggles and little boy energy, and Wally was…two. Haha! As with all my toddlers, a touch of shyness, and even grouchy faces are expected and totally normal. I photograph my families as they are, and sometimes that includes our furrowed (and super precious) brows.
I book family sessions through out the year; and am currently booking for September! If you’d like to squeeze the last drops of summer into a family session, check out the details of what’s included on http://www.wboycephotos.com and then send me an email! firstname.lastname@example.org
If you’re a current client in good standing, keep your eyes out for my fall family mini session dates. I’ll be emailing them out in early August!
I wrapped up my nephew’s birthday and dove face first into my incredibly packed fall family schedule.
I was lucky enough to shoot baby Alison when she was newborn, and getting to see her as a toddler was such a treat.
Her big brothers are so much fun. They’re the perfect combination of silly and sweet.
We played in the leaves a bit, snapped a couple of the three together (the smooching happened all on its own!)
grabbed some fast family photos and that was that! I could have shot all day though; Cassy, Jason, Owen, Carter, and Alison were total models.
Mini sessions go *fast*. Even though I time mini sessions out to no more than 30 minutes, my clients can still expect anywhere from 30-40 images for a family of five in their private online galleries 😀 I’m booking sessions for June and July NOW. Summer is such a great time for photos. I prefer summer to fall for my own family photos (GASP!) The sunlight is so warm, the days are filled with fun. There’s no pressure to hurry up and get the photos done so you have them in time for your holiday cards– shoot in the summer and you’ll have your images WELL in advance for those cards!
Book your session today by emailing email@example.com
I am so excited to have great weather for working outside in again! Spring! It’s warm again, the trees are greening up, we have grass! All wonderful things when you’re a natural light photographer. It wasn’t entirely “springlike” for Mandy’s mini session, but I’ll tell you what- her family crushed it. They looked great in their blues and greys -one of my all time favorite color combos.
There were some laughs when Mandy’s oldest son Paul IV went toddler-zombie on his daddy :*) I love the shot of him noming on Daddy’s head. And the cheeks on baby J- good gravy. SO CUTE. When we got to the park, there were quite a few people fishing off the large dock which totally figures because I knew I wanted to work on the dock! Luckily, after a short while they cleared out and we were able to get a couple cute shots. IV was excited and telling me about all the delicious things he wanted to get at Chic Fil A– Chocolate milk and three french fries! Cutie booty. Mandy and crew were so easy to work with- I know I say it often, but my clients are so great and I’m so glad to call so many of you friends. Thank you a bunch, Mandy for choosing to work with me ❤ Your boys are super sweeties!
If you would like to schedule your own family session, feel free to send me an email- firstname.lastname@example.org
remember if you refer a friend you’ll both get extra goodies 🙂
You’re going to see a lot of this little bubba! This is my nephew Colin. I just realized I never posted his newborn session, so keep an eye out for that on an upcoming #TBT. I went out to my sister’s house in Erie, PA for the first part of our session. I got our little set-up put together and Miss Georgia Bo came to make sure her brother would be safe:
One the set was deemed safe, I put Colin in! At six months, most babies aren’t sitting independently very well yet, so I like to use a little basket to hold the baby (with mom or dad supporting the back side of the basket). I took one of my favorite photos to date of Baby Boy:
Gah, so stinking cute. I really wanted to get a few different things, so while my family was here over Easter, I snapped away.
Colin had just gotten some lunch 😀 We headed into the studio (which doubles as my guest room, use whatcha got!)
Colin loves being naked, putting things in his mouth, and his feet!
::nom:: I have this in one of his little photo collections, but I think it deserves its own spot!
He’s getting so big so fast. Milestone mini sessions are only $100 here in my home studio, and it’s so easy to fit them in. Babies grow and change so fast, and sure we can take 220,000 cell phone photos but milestone minis are keepsakes that you can print and display for years.
Give me an email and let’s get your milestone on the books! email@example.com
Maddie and her family are just ❤ love. I’ve been photographing them for almost two years now and I tell ya, I look forward to every minute with them. We started off in my home studio space and got some really sweet shots…
And then MaddieCakes remembered she was two years old and she was o.v.e.r i.t. No biggie! We rescheduled and I headed down to Jackie and Greg’s home (yes, I absolutely will come to you!). At first, Maddie wasn’t so sure this was a good idea. She seemed hip to this game.
But we took her outside and she cheered up on her own turf:
I knew Maddie was a big Sophia the First fan, so I asked Jackie and Greg if we could put her in her Sophia dress. And it was magic. She read us stories, played with stickers…
And then the violence broke out and it was mayhem. Ok, not really. Jackie bonked Greg on the head a few (hundred) times with a book aaaaand MaddieCakes lost her mind:
Maddie was laughing so hard, she was snorting. It was great 😀
The 15m-28m age can be difficult. A toddlers favorite word is often times, “NO!” or in Mad’s case, “NO WAY!” but with a little patience and creativity from all of us grown ups, some really great times and photographs can be had.
As always, thank you to Jackie and Greg for all the love!
If you haven’t heard, I’m holding #SpringMiniSessions on April 25th. Now, you might be asking, “What makes a mini session with Wendy a MINI? What do I lose out on if I book during a mini sale?” The answer is time makes it a mini, but you don’t lose out on anything… want to see why? Read on, my friend.
It’s true that I am generally one of the lowest priced photographers in the Cleveland area with my experience (there are people out there selling sessions for $60 a pop, but buyer beware :more on that later:) and it’s true that I provide digital files for sale below the industry norm, not to mention my prints available to all clients a la carte start at $2, so just what makes a mini a mini? (mini mini miiiinnnniiii!)
In short, a mini session with wendy b photos is a strict, set amount of time typically 30 minutes or less. It comes with fewer digital files included on your disk but additional digitals are discounted so you can add files easily. I restrict the number of people who can participate in the mini (usually five people tops) because more people = more shoot time= more edit time. You know what they say about time and money after all.
I offer mini sessions a few times a year; during spring (going on now), fall, and then winter. Minis are a great way to get that family shot you want “just a nice one of the five of us”, update your family photo wall, or grab some quick shots of your little kiddo hitting a fun milestone.
Minis are perfect for the budget-minded as well. Right now, my mini session is 35% off the regular family session price. If you have referral credits, you can in most cases apply them to your mini session, reducing the cost another 10%. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for info on referral credits!
So, now you know! I have four spaces left for my April 25th family mini sessions– book yours today!
Oh, Valentine’s Day. Some people love you. Some hate you. I generally find myself in the latter group 😛 I’m a happily married lady, but Valentine’s Day has never been one of my favorites. However, now that I have two little girls who really enjoy passing out Valentine’s and celebrating with their friends, I might be coming around.
Of course, boys as adorable as this help, too. Multiples have a special place in my heart and these three were no exception.
Brothers ::puffy hearts:: These boys each were sweet and funny in their own ways. We took this at my home-studio space (slash guest room, working with what we have!) we got a couple shots off and took some breaks. We talked about where my basement was (“Under the house!”) and took peeks the playground out back (theirs is bigger, haha) and watched a few minutes of Jack’s Big Music Show to help us settle in again. Our mini was one of a kind, just like J, B, and Z.
Thank you, Jamie for coming out! It was a pleasure meeting you and your special crew ❤
I knew what I wanted for my little Valentine’s Mini sessions and I set off to Etsy to find it. Aaaaand then I was slapped in the face with price tags of $50+. I’m a budget photographer- not only in that I keep my prices affordable but also I have to watch my bottom line! I decided to give crafting my own heart garlands. I *totally* understand why the Etsy ones are expensive because HOLY CRAP were these time consuming and as any small business owner knows, time is money. So, I spent a few days (seriously) cutting out a little over 100 card stock paper hearts of various sizes and colors. Then, ugh. Sewing. I have a sewing machine because I forgot how much I suck at sewing Shockingly, sewing paper is waaaaaaaay easier than sewing fabric.
Here’s a little peek into how I spent my time 😀
(yes, that would be my darling husband’s hand threading the machine for me)
