Morgan is ONE! { Sagamore Hills 1st birthday milestone photos}

Oh precious Morgan. I have loved seeing this little love muffin grow over the past year!

One year old!
One year old!

When I met Nichole, Tom, Lauren, Kyle, and baby Morgan. They could *not* have been more wonderful and welcoming and loving. Their session was full of laughter and silliness, “Hey! I don’t have diarrhea!” :*)

Late last summer, Morgan was a bright eyed, squishy-cheeked 3 month old:

She loved her big sister but was a little unsure about the silly “motor boat” sounds Lauren made.

Morgan3m-93wmI was so touched when Nichole told me she wanted to continue photographing Morgan throughout her first year!

At six months, Morgan was all big eyes, and shy smiles in my home studio:Morgan6m-107wm Morgan6m-21wmMorgan6m-65wmNo one wore that little pom pom hat quite as well as Morgan! She loved her toes, loved snuggling with the teddy, and was so clearly a little princess.

At nine months more of Morgan’s silly disposition shone. She was teething, and everything went into her mouth! Nichole brought along Morgan’s Belle baby and Morgan just gnawed on it. She had her fingers in her mouth and her tongue was just going crazy. It was so cute. Morgan had enough hair to pop it up in to her little whale-spout pony which I found out is a signature look! She made the perfect little backdrop model, if I do say so 😉

And then, before I knew it, Morgan was back in my home studio turning one. A whole year old ❤ Morgan was chatty, and smiling, and standing, and just a dream. The weather was really nice, and since we were at my home, I told Nichole I’d really like to take some photos of Morgan out in the yard. Nichole was totally willing to head out, plus it meant we got to use a couple more outfits (you should see the adorable outfits she would bring over for our sessions! It was hard often times to choose which to wear!).  Nichole brought along a quilt that was hers when she was a baby and I’m so glad we were able to use it. Morgan kept putting her head down and snuggling with it. I would say to her, “Night night, Morgan!” and she would pop herself right back up! There’s no napping when you’re a big girl!

Morgan still plays with her tongue, but now you can see the tooth nubbins coming up. She still holds her hands to her mouth, as babies are wont to do ❤ She still has the cutest cheeks and the biggest blue eyes but you can see a bit of that baby face maturing. It has been my absolute pleasure not only getting to work with Nichole, but getting the chance to now call her my friend. Nichole has generously offered me use of an antique child’s sled for sessions, and the use of her gorgeous property! How awesome is that? I can’t thank you enough, Nichole for everything you’ve given me this year. I look forward to every session, and can’t wait to take your family photos again late this summer.

*If you want to capture all the sweet little milestone moments for your baby, please get in touch. There is nothing more joyous for me, than to hold time still in a photograph. I can be reached by email at wendy@wboycephotos.com *

Colin’s 6m milestone {Erie, PA baby photographer}

You’re going to see a lot of this little bubba! This is my nephew Colin. I just realized I never posted his newborn session, so keep an eye out for that on an upcoming #TBT. I went out to my sister’s house in Erie, PA for the first part of our session. I got our little set-up put together and Miss Georgia Bo came to make sure her brother would be safe:

One the set was deemed safe, I put Colin in! At six months, most babies aren’t sitting independently very well yet, so I like to use a little basket to hold the baby (with mom or dad supporting the back side of the basket). I took one of my favorite photos to date of Baby Boy:

colin-6m-collage-2wmGah, so stinking cute.  I really wanted to get a few different things, so while my family was here over Easter, I snapped away.

Colin had just gotten some lunch 😀 We headed into the studio (which doubles as my guest room, use whatcha got!)

Colin loves being naked, putting things in his mouth, and his feet!

::nom:: I have this in one of his little photo collections, but I think it deserves its own spot!Colin-6m-81wm

He’s getting so big so fast. Milestone mini sessions are only $100 here in my home studio, and it’s so easy to fit them in. Babies grow and change so fast, and sure we can take 220,000 cell phone photos but milestone minis are keepsakes that you can print and display for years.

Give me an email and let’s get your milestone on the books! wendy@wboycephotos.com

Maddie is 2!

Maddie and her family are just ❤ love. I’ve been photographing them for almost two years now and I tell ya, I look forward to every minute with them. We started off in my home studio space and got some really sweet shots…

And then MaddieCakes remembered she was two years old and she was o.v.e.r  i.t. No biggie! We rescheduled and I headed down to Jackie and Greg’s home (yes, I absolutely will come to you!). At first, Maddie wasn’t so sure this was a good idea. She seemed hip to this game.

M2-17wm

But we took her outside and she cheered up on her own turf:

I knew Maddie was a big Sophia the First fan, so I asked Jackie and Greg if we could put her in her Sophia dress. And it was magic. She read us stories, played with stickers…

And then the violence broke out and it was mayhem. Ok, not really. Jackie bonked Greg on the head a few (hundred) times with a book aaaaand MaddieCakes lost her mind:

AGAIN!
AGAIN!

Maddie was laughing so hard, she was snorting. It was great 😀
The 15m-28m age can be difficult. A toddlers favorite word is often times, “NO!” or in Mad’s case, “NO WAY!” but with a little patience and creativity from all of us grown ups, some really great times and photographs can be had.
As always, thank you to Jackie and Greg for all the love!

What makes a Mini Session “mini?

If you haven’t heard, I’m holding #SpringMiniSessions on April 25th. Now, you might be asking, “What makes a mini session with Wendy a MINI? What do I lose out on if I book during a mini sale?” The answer is time makes it a mini, but you don’t lose out on anything… want to see why? Read on, my friend.

what makes a mini session "mini"?
what makes a mini session “mini”?

It’s true that I am generally one of the lowest priced photographers in the Cleveland area with my experience (there are people out there selling sessions for $60 a pop, but buyer beware :more on that later:)  and it’s true that I provide digital files for sale below the industry norm, not to mention my prints available to all clients a la carte start at $2, so just what makes a mini a mini? (mini mini miiiinnnniiii!)

In short, a mini session with wendy b photos is a strict, set amount of time typically 30 minutes or less. It comes with fewer digital files included on your disk but additional digitals are discounted so you can add files easily. I restrict the number of people who can participate in the mini (usually five people tops) because more people = more shoot time= more edit time. You know what they say about time and money after all.

I offer mini sessions a few times a year; during spring (going on now), fall, and then winter. Minis are a great way to get that family shot you want “just a nice one of the five of us”, update your family photo wall, or grab some quick shots of your little kiddo hitting a fun milestone.

Minis are perfect for the budget-minded as well. Right now, my mini session is 35% off the regular family session price. If you have referral credits, you can in most cases apply them to your mini session, reducing the cost another 10%. Email wendy@wboycephotos.com for info on referral credits!

So, now you know! I have four spaces left for my April 25th family mini sessions– book yours today!

Morgan 9 month milestone {Sagamore Hills photographer}

Oh, precious Morgan. I will never get tired of her giant smiles, her chattering, her mooshy cheeks or her big blue eyes ❤M9mcollage-1wm

I got to use my woodland backdrop with her and GOOD LORD she made it look so so so so sooo good. These mile stone sessions are so much fun. I’m so glad Tom and Nichole have allowed me to photograph their baby as she grows ❤ We shot all most of her milestone sessions in my home-studio and she is an absolute joy.

M9mcollage-2wm

I cannot wait to shoot her 1st birthday and cake smash photos. I know she is going to tear it up.

I offer two different 1st birthday sessions now, too! So you can pick which level of photos you’d like best. Check out the details HERE, scroll down to “first birthday cake smash”. You can choose whether you’d like to just have photos of cake smash, a milestone mini, or if you’d like me to come out to you and include a couple family/sibling photos as well!

Studio addition!

A long while back, I posted to my Facebook page that I had found a backdrop that I super mega loved. Then, at Christmas time, a large roll showed up at my home!  My mother in law had gotten it for me as a gift (yaay!)  When I got it set up, I begged/asked one of my girls to sit so I could take a couple pictures. She agreed, but only if I let her have her blankie with her. Molly-woodland-drop-8wm Molly-woodland-drop-2wm

I can see so many sessions with it. Milestone minis, first birthday cake smashes, newborns, holiday minis... oh so love it. Want to use it in your session? Just ask! Even if you want to shoot in your home, I can bring my drop and stand with me 😀 Send me a line and let’s set it up! I’m booking for March and beyond right now!

A Valentine’s Mini to share

Oh, Valentine’s Day. Some people love you. Some hate you. I generally find myself in the latter group 😛 I’m a happily married lady, but Valentine’s Day has never been one of my favorites. However, now that I have two little girls who really enjoy passing out Valentine’s and celebrating with their friends, I might be coming around.

Of course, boys as adorable as this help, too. Multiples have a special place in my heart and these three were no exception. JKMini-collage-wm

Brothers ::puffy hearts::  These boys each were sweet and funny in their own ways. We took this at my home-studio space (slash guest room, working with what we have!) we got a couple shots off and took some breaks. We talked about where my basement was (“Under the house!”) and took peeks the playground out back (theirs is bigger, haha) and watched a few minutes of Jack’s Big Music Show to help us settle in again. Our mini was one of a kind, just like J, B, and Z.

Thank you, Jamie for coming out! It was a pleasure meeting you and your special crew ❤

Getting crafty

I knew what I wanted for my little Valentine’s Mini sessions and I set off to Etsy to find it. Aaaaand then I was slapped in the face with price tags of $50+. I’m a budget photographer- not only in that I keep my prices affordable but also I have to watch my bottom line! I decided to give crafting my own heart garlands. I *totally* understand why the Etsy ones are expensive because HOLY CRAP were these time consuming and as any small business owner knows, time is money. So, I spent a few days (seriously) cutting out a little over 100 card stock paper hearts of various sizes and colors. Then, ugh. Sewing. I have a sewing machine because I forgot how much I suck at sewing :/ Shockingly, sewing paper is waaaaaaaay easier than sewing fabric.

Here’s a little peek into how I spent my time 😀
