2018 seems to have gone by really quickly- I remember being freaked out about going to Costa Rica with my husband for a weekend trip he earned at his place of business. I get scared to travel anywhere (I’m mid mental breakdown about a trip to Maui, HI I’m taking very shortly). Even though I like going to these cool new places, I get totally freaked out. Leaving my kids, my responsibilities… shouldn’t I be trying to book work rather than take time off? Ugh. This Maui trip is messing with my head pretty badly, especially when I look back and see I didn’t book a single thing for January but to be fair, my daughters have been out of school until the 7th, I have to be back home in PA on the 12th for an event, and I leave on the 15th, almost all of my weekends are spoken for.
I got to shoot some really great newborns, and I’m looking forward to meeting even more babies this year (it’s never too early to book your newborn session, please PLEASE do not wait until the last minute).
I shot so.much.film; I loved every freaking second of it. There hasn’t been a single shot that I was like, “Oh dang, missed it,” because even the shots that don’t come out perfectly, are perfect. Photography has always been about the moment, right? So sometimes, what matters isn’t what is “in focus” but what’s going on around the focus. Maybe that’s too meta. IDK. So many pictures of 2/3rds of our cats (the tuxedo cat is Fiffen/ Olive, the orange and white one is Beep)…
So many pictures of my long suffering daughters who are juuuuust about finished being my little models…
Cakes, and milestones, and families…. 2018 was a pretty full year of lots of good things.
Best Tummy of 2018 ^^
I don’t have any idea what 2019 will bring. If we’ve worked together, I’d love to see you again. I’d love for you to tell a friend about your experience, I’d love to give you both referral credits 😉 I’d love for you to ask for a film session (yes, I am offering film for client work now). I’d love to keep growing this business. I really would. Every year it gets harder and harder, but you guys keep me going and I thank you for that. On to 2019 friends. Let’s see what we can create together. Check out https://www.wboycephotos.com and when you’re ready, email me: firstname.lastname@example.org. Whatever you want, we can make it happen.
This post is a long time coming. Miss Lilly was born in March to one of the best educators my daughters have had to date. Lilly’s mom is so special to me and I was so touched that she asked me to photograph her precious daughter. Lilly had a bit of a bumpy start, but I was able to go to the NICU, when as luck would have it, Lilly would be released that same day!
After Lilly had gotten settled in at home, I went to Diana and Dave’s home for Lilly’s newborn session. I brought a few of my things with me, but Diana had some special pieces she had let me know she wanted to include. One of those things, was this lovely broach that had belonged to Diana’s beloved Grandmother who had sadly passed away the night before Lilly’s birth. Lilly is named after her Great Grandmother ❤
Look at that smile, in her Daddy’s hands!
Lilly had a number of gorgeous blankets and quilts made in her honor! This quilt was a little too large to wrap Lilly in just yet, but it made a beautiful backdrop.
In a few short days, I’ll be photographing Lilly again, and I cannot wait to see her momma and daddy, and of course, get some snuggles in. Book your 2019 newborn session TODAY by emailing email@example.com.

They say there are very few mysteries in life. Kristen and Chris decided that learning the sex of their baby would be a mystery they hung on to ❤ When their precious little one was born in early May, they found out together, that it was a little boy.
I packed up and headed to their home in the Cleveland suburbs to photograph their new little family. I love doing in-home sessions. They are my #1 favorite session to shoot.
If you’re pregnant and expecting in September 2018 or later (yes, 2019 dates included!) please email me today to book your in-home newborn session. Let’s get your due date on my calendar! firstname.lastname@example.org
“Hey, I just met you… and this is crazy. But I’m your baby, so call me maybe…”
When Emily contacted me, she said she really wanted to shoot a lifestyle session, including their newborn but they didn’t really want a “newborn session”. We talked about what that would mean, and decided to go for an in-home lifestyle family session. I don’t often times get asked to shoot lifestyle and that’s totally fine, but ::wow:: insert al the heart eyes. A lifestyle session is different from a “traditional” family session in that there is nearly no direction, and very little posing. It’s just your family, hanging out, reading together, snuggling. I simply asked for everyone to pile on to the couch and really Big Brother Leo lead the charge. We didn’t ask him to sit-smile-stay. Instead we allowed him to snuggle when he felt like it, play with his cars, or tear through the house having a race with his daddy.
I am immensely proud of these photos, and they tell the story of this fun loving, gorgeous family on their own, so I’ll let them do the rest of the speaking…

Ah, new people. Photographing newborns is my most favorite part of my job. I always travel to my client’s home, so everything is as easy as possible. No packing up, no worrying about diaper explosions, no worries about an uncooperative tiny human or sibling 😉 While I can bring some small studio props with me, I generally prefer to shoot your newest family member, at home- just being. I love getting to use personal pieces- in the above picture, Joey’s mommy (a very talented artist) painted the globe behind him, we shot in his room, with his yellow blanket!
When Cecelia was born, I was able to photograph her big brother snuggling with her by the window, a beautiful smile in her Daddy’s arms, and a precious little coo in her crib! These photos wouldn’t have the same sentimentality had I shot them in studio.
It’s so important to me, to be able to give my clients a glimpse of their tiny baby and his or her role in the family. The newborn phase goes by so quickly, and in such a haze. In the blur of sleep deprivation and hormonal changes, it’s easy to forget the tiny little wisp of hair he had, or the little dimple she had comfort sucking, or the way the puppies always wanted to be so close. To make sure you can get in, book your newborn session no later than your 30th week of pregnancy. (email firstname.lastname@example.org for availability, currently I can take April, May, and June newborns)Studio photography is *beautiful* and someday, I hope to be able to add the option for studio photos, but for now I’ll happily come to you and photograph your tiny person right at home indoors, or if you have a summer baby outdoors! ❤
Sweet Caleb Clay was in a hurry to meet his family! He is healthy and perfect, despite his slightly early start ❤ His early-ish birth also made scheduling his session a bit easier- we had to reschedule his session because NEO was nailed with a pretty nasty storm (though nothing like what my hometown outside of Erie, PA has been dealing with) but we had a bit of wiggle room and the day we shot, he was technically about 37 weeks gestation. Cool, right?
I traveled up to Janel and Greg’s home and we got to work. Caleb, like lots of babies was totally into checking out his surroundings. I can always work with awake babies 🙂 Eventually, after some snuggles and a little snack, Caleb settled in. We were able to use *so* many personal touches, it’s the biggest reason I love going to my client’s home for newborns. The green blanket and hat were made for him, the reindeer hat was a gift, and perhaps most special- the quilt he is snuggled with was made by his Great Grandmother Virginia.
Not only was this quilt made by his Great Grandmother, it was the FIRST quilt she had ever made, many years ago. I brought my own quilt to the session and when Janel saw it, she remarked that she was pretty sure she had a family quilt, somewhere in the house. She took a peek and brought back this beauty and told me the story of it’s maker. Had we not been shooting at home, we wouldn’t have been able to use this piece of family history! Congratulations, Janel and Greg (and kitties Kevin and Louis). Caleb is absolutely darling ❤ ❤ I can’t wait to watch him grow with you!
Now booking MARCH and later newborn sessions! email email@example.com to schedule today 😀
Playing catch-up as always! Oh how I miss those beautiful summer evenings. Little Elise left me speechless when she pushed herself up into a crawl!
Couldn’t you just eat her up? She has the sweetest little face ❤
You. Guys. ❤ I was given this hat by a vendor to use for newborn photos, only it was HUGE. You can see it’s even a bit big on sweet Elise at 6m but great googily moogily how adorable is she in it!? Like mother, like daughter. Two beautiful ladies ❤ I can’t wait to see how Elise grows over the winter 😀
I’m currently booking 2018 maternity, newborn, milestone and family sessions! Book yours before 1.1.18 and lock in 2017 session fee!
This is the week of throw-backs! Today’s feature is baby Elise ❤ Elise was born in March, so I headed down to her family for her in-home newborn session. Shooting in my client’s home is always the easiest for them- no packing up anything, no worries if baby has a diaper explosion or a little reflux. We also get to relax, and spend time in a place where everyone is most comfortable.
and… I get to meet the family pets ❤ Olive and Henry made this shoot so special. Olive had to make sure the basket was safe for her new human!
All those small details… you forget sometimes how tiny their ear was, or how they puckered their little lips, the curve of a chubby cheek ❤ You forget how their skin was so new, and soft… You never forget the work it took to grow them, but sometimes you forget those itty bitty details.
I get to see Elise in just a few weeks for her six month milestone session and I cannot wait to see how much she’s changed! I’m booking November and early 2018 newborns and milestone sessions 😀 If you know someone expecting, send them my way; when they book their session you’ll both earn some fun freebies!
I’ve been photographing Madison “Mads” since she was about 8 months old. She was as full of spunk then, as she is now! And she is insanely beautiful. Child model material for sure. She is such a perfect mix of her gorgeous mom and her hilarious dad.
She’s pony obsessed like all four year old girls should be, and has been for at least a year. During her 3yr photo session, she brought one of her ponies with her, and she showed me her pony hooves. It was awesome.
She’s also into her pretties; her necklace, bracelet, and dainty painted nails…
She’s a big sister now, too! Mason had his newborn session back in December and soon, he’ll have his very own cake smash just like Mads had, three full years ago ❤
I’m currently booking November milestones and fall mini sessions and *2018* newborns! Line up your session spot, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Detail collages get me in all the feels. I love seeing those newborn lips, and those mushy cheeks, and the little noses, and those itty bitty ear folds.
When I can, I like to create a little birth announcement for my newborn clients. Even if you don’t purchase 150 and mail them, it’s always nice to have one for yourself. When my daughters were a few months old, maybe even a year old, I finally made a couple for myself and printed a 5×7 of each, then framed those 5x7s in an 8×10 matted frame. Just a suggestion… 😉
No one can resist a nibble on newborn toes. Maddie is no different. I love Mason’s face, looking up to Daddy like, “HAAAAALLLPPP!!!!” Seriously, it’s not like anyone could resist taking a smooch or maybe… nibble.
If you’re expecting in June or July of 2017, email me today email@example.com to set up your newborn session!
